Template used to soft redirect a category page without content to another category page. (No automatic redirection.)

Usage
- This template should be used as the only content remaining in the category page that has been renamed or merged into another one indicated in parameter.
Syntax
{{Category redirect|target}}- Replace target with the bare target category name (without the implied "Category:" prefix).
Outcome
- Tagged categories will appear in subcategories of Category:Soft-redirected categories:
- As long as the target category page does not exist, the tagged category will be listed in Category:Soft-redirected categories with missing target category.
- As long as the tagged soft-redirected category contains member pages, the tagged category will be listed in Category:Soft-redirected categories still containing pages, and the tagged soft-redirected category will remain listed as a subcategory (listed under the indexing key ←) of the target category; otherwise it will be listed in Category:Soft-redirected categories no longer containing pages.
Example
- A category page like Category:Frankreich containing:
{{Category redirect|France}}will render as:
Redirected category 
This category has been renamed or merged into another one and should no longer contain any member pages. All member pages which may still belong to this category should now be placed into:
Category:France
