Alaska’s four time zones are consolidated into two in four steps, each one hour apart, over the course of two hours. Among the changes, the panhandle of Alaska is moved from the Pacific Time Zone to the Yukon Time Zone one hour after daylight saving time ends, causing the 2 o’clock hour to repeat for a third time.
