Hello! I'm Kento, a mapper from Madison County, Illinois.

I'm 17 years old and in my Junior year.

Mapping Areas

I primarily map in the Metro East region of Illinois, sometimes occasionally mapping in Missouri, and rarely in other states. So far my main areas of activity include the towns of Bethalto and Wood River. I also am in the slow process of adding landuse features to Madison County.

Projects

Buildings

One of my primary projects is the placing of buildings. Despite what it may seem, I prefer to do this as there is a serious lack of accurate building data within the whole St. Louis Metropolitan area, which has lead me to focus most of my efforts on filling out as many missing buildings as possible. This has lead me to having placed around 7,000 buildings so far, with by the end of the first part of the project, hoping to have placed over 20,000 buildings.

POI's

Currently I do have a minor focus on POI's, though less so on placing buildings, I still try to put them down when I have the time. Currently I am gathering data on POI's within my area as I plan on filling in the POI blanks in Wood River and Alton.

Landuse

More of a vanity project, I am trying to place landuse as often as I can. I focus on important landuses such as residential, retail, commercial, industrial, and other non-natural landuses. The first step of this project is to fill in Madison county, depending on the time it takes to do this will depend on what I will do when it goes to expanding past the county.

Power Grid

One of the lesser goals of mine is to map out all powerlines within Madison County. Why is beyond what the me from 1 year ago decided to say. I plan on starting in the northern part.
