Hello!
My name is Niko. I work in a server farm as system manager to provide network services to the Federico II University. I'm a gnu/linux enthusiast, and my preferred os distribution is gentoo.
On april 2006 my girlfriend gived me as gift a Bluetooth GPS device :), so i began to explore the world of assisted navigation and maps in general. Frustrated in not having a GPS/Navigation software for Linux i starded in developing a project called QTNavigator (now renamed in OSMNavigator). Some days after i discovered OSM and joined it, actually i'm:
- mapping areas of the southern of Italy (Benevento/Napoli in particular)
- mantaining an ebuild for gentoo-linux to install an osm-server for testing pourpose
- continue in developing OSMNavigator.
