Hi there. I've just started adding stuff to Openstreetmap, in Brunswick, Victoria, Australia.
If you want to know more about me, you can try my personal blog. I also write regularly at Larvatus Prodeo.
I'm using the combination of a Garmin Etrex Vista HCx and a Samsung MP3 player with voice recorder to do my mapping, on my trusty Kona Dew hybrid bicycle. This etrex is an excellent unit for openstreetmap; compact, waterproof, gets great reception, the batteries seem to last a long time. I'm looking forward to trying to download maps into the unit, as well! Ram Mounts make very high quality (if a bit chunky-sized) bicycle mount for this GPS.
The MP3 player isn't ideal, because the record button is too small for convenience. I'm going to look for something better; maybe a voice-activated recorder??
If nobody else does, I'll go down and add some laneways to the Hoddle Grid in the city soon.
