Mon nom est Robert Grauenfels et j'ai commencé de faire des cartes après l'achat d'une module GPS sur USB DeLORME Earthmate LT-20. J'ai trouvé intéressant le projet de Open Street Map et j'ai décide d'apporter ma contribution. J'ai déjà fait une partie de la ville de Focsani, en Roumanie et après mon déménagement en France j'ai commencé de m'occuper de la ville de Cognac, ou j'habite maintenant. Aujourd'hui ma collection GPS c'est agrandie avec un GPS Mio Moov 500 et un téléphone Nokia N95. Je fait mes cartes surtout à partir des mes propres traces GPS.

My name is Robert Grauenfels and I started to use OpenStreetMap when I realised that there is still a lot of work to be done, especially for my county (Vrancea, Romania). I use a DeLORME Earthmate LT-20 USB GPS receiver with an old laptop. I bought it in Canada and it came with maps only for North America. So, I try to find mapping software for Europe. Because this GPS receiver is NMEA-compliant, I can use a few commercial software, like Microsoft's Map Point, but I hope to find an open-source application. Now, I have a MIO GPS and I started to map some places in France, especially around Cognac.

Ma numesc Robert Grauenfels si am inceput sa contibui la OpenStreetMap cand mi-am dat seama ca inca mai este mult de lucru in special in zona in care locuiesc in prezent, adica Focsani si judetul Vrancea. Folosesc un receptor GPS pe USB de la DeLORME, Earthmate LT-20, conectat la un laptop vechi. L-am cumparat din Canada si avea numai harti pentu America de Nord. Incerc sa gasesc aplicatii open-source pentru rutare si mapare GPS pentru Windows (compatibile NMEA), in afara celor comerciale gen Microsoft Map Point. Deoarece dispozitivul meu GPS necesita un computer, sunt nevoit sa fac traseele cu masina, ceea ce face dificila maparea unui oras. Deoarece m-am mutat in Franta, contributia mea la harta Romaniei va fi mult mai redusa.
