Guide to testing with a filtered planet

1. Download the planet (restartable)

wget https://planet.openstreetmap.org/pbf/planet-latest.osm.pbf.torrent
aria2c planet-latest.osm.bz2.torrent

2. Create a filtered planet:

osmium tags-filter -v -O -o slim-planet.osm.pbf planet.osm.pbf r/route=road nw/highway=*

3. Edit openmaptiles.yaml to ignore extraneous layers
