Is the OSM community in Laramie still active? I moved to town recently after spending all last summer exploring Wyoming. So I started editing OSM to chart my discoveries. That's when I figured out that a lot of stuff was missing, big stuff, too. Whole national forests have never been imported. That's what I plan on working on next but I'm still pretty new to the world of mapping, so it would be great to know if there are others around (even in state) who have an interest.

- I see. It's going to take me a little while to get to know all the stuff I need to do the National Forest imports I want to accomplish, but once I do that I can easily move on to some other outdoors features that are significant and missing. Only a few State Parks, for instance, have been added and I think they have all been done by hand. The trick there will be finding the data to import. I suspect the BLM has some data that might help, but I think it mostly covers the entire state. Finding a source for individual shapefiles for specific areas will help matters a little bit, especially since some of the places I have in mind are pretty complex. The Medicine Lodge area, for instance, is a mix of State Archeological Site, Wildlife Habitat Management Area, and Wilderness Study Area spanning across state, BLM, and private lands with a public access easement. Once it's all put together I think it will be pretty cool to see how all these work in concert to give access to public lands. Thanks for your help! -Zytsef (talk) 15:33, 29 January 2016 (UTC)
