Iceland ocean tiles
Hi, you unmarked riverbank->land overflow on the list of Icelandic oceantiles, I've added them again as they're still broken. What was it that you did to the dataset or oceantiles that led you to believe that the problem was fixed? --Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 19:09, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
Sorting out user categories
Good work sorting out all the user categories! -- Harry Wood 22:57, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks! I hope it persuades users to use it more and better. --Mdeen 18:58, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Kosovo iMMAP import
Hi Mdeen,
I found two "ways" which contain only empty nodes here. Maybe thats one of the places where you wanted to check for remains of a conflict? Since in a bigger area around I found nothing else broken I'll continue to edit there. -- Malenki 19:22, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
- I suspect that is a bug in JOSM (my version is 2561). On a few occasions now I had the case that I opened one of the OSM files, tagged the ways as highway=road, put them in the downloaded layer, did something and all of a sudden the ways were gone but the nodes remained. Zooming in and out a bit made it reappear. Very strange. But I've seen more of these nodes, also from Mike. Feel free to delete any stray nodes. --Mdeen 19:30, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Meatspace
Hi Maarten, to avoid back-and-forth editing of the calendar documentation (Special:Diff/1583904, Special:Diff/1714186), let's briefly discuss this here: I believe the intended term is indeed "meatspace" (a relatively common slang word for the physical world, as noted on Wikipedia and urban dictionary, for example). Does that make sense to you or are you interpreting this differently? --Tordanik 22:49, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
- IDK, I never heard that term used like that before and since meat is a common typo from meet (and means something different alltogether) I thought it was a typo. IMHO it is a stupid connotation and I would see it as a typo every time. --Mdeen (talk) 07:15, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
- But for "meatspace" to be a typo, "meetspace" would have to be an actual word. And as far as I can tell (I looked into dictionaries such as dict.cc), it isn't? --Tordanik 23:18, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
Missing file information
Hello! And thanks for your upload - but some extra info is necessary.
Sorry for bothering you about this, but it is important to know source of the uploaded files.
Are you the author of image File:Anwb-wandelroute.jpg ?
Or is it copied from some other place (which one?)?
Please, add this info to the file page - something like "I took this photo" or "downloaded from -website link-" or "I took this screeshot of program XYZ".
In case that you are the author of the image: Would you agree to open licensing of this image, allowing its use by anyone (similarly to your OSM edits)?
Would you be OK with CC0 (it allows use without attribution or any other requirement)?
Or do you prefer to require attribution and some other things using CC-BY-SA-4.0?
If you are the author: Please add {{CC0-self}} to the file page to publish the image under CC0 license.
You can also use {{CC-BY-SA-4.0-self}} to publish under CC-BY-SA-4.0 license.
Note that in cases where photo is a screenshot of some software interface: usually it is needed to handle also copyright of software itself.
Note that in cases where aerial imagery is present: also licensing of an aerial imagery matter.
Feel free to ask for help if you need it - you can do it for example by asking on Talk:Wiki: new topic.
Please ask there if you are not sure what is the proper next step. Especially when you are uploading files that are not your own work or are derivative work (screenshots, composition of images, using aerial imagery etc).
Once you add missing data - please remove {{Unknown|subcategory=uploader notified January 2022}} from the file page.

- Added some license info, I think this is sufficient? --Mdeen (talk) 10:54, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, it looks fine (it seems that logo itself is not original enough to make this a derivative work). Thanks for a fix! Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 11:19, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
