JOSM/Guide Translations
Hi Nazotoko,
Great to see you made a start on translating JOSM/Guide to Japanese. Really, it's fantastic to see this! I think this guide can help new users a lot, especially if it's available in their language!

- Hi Harry Wood, I waited for the JOSM/Guide to be opened. I have suspended to translate JOSM when I noticed that you had started to write JOSM/Guide. Documents for new users are really needed, not only for Japanese. Beginners Guide doesn't have enough information for beginners but writing too much is bad. JOSM/Guide and Potlatch/Primer should be written for new users and linked from the Beginners Guide. I will try to rewrite Beginners Guide (both Japanese and English) too. --Nazotoko 18:47, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
- I notice that the new version of Potlatch will include a beginners guide presumably built into the software and not wiki editable. We should probably wait till that is released before working on a rewrite. -- Harry Wood 15:11, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Template:Languages
Hallo, Du hast die Anleitung für das Template verschoben nach Wiki Translation. Warum?
Besser ist es, die Duku direkt beim Templat zu haben, dann kann sie im Zusammenhang gepflegt werden. Dann kann man die Doku auch von verschiedenen Artikeln direkt und zentral verlinken.
Kannst Du das bitte wieder rückgängig machen?

- Hello, Markus, I can read Deutsch though, I cannot write it. I answer in English.
- I agree that the introduction docs in Template:Languages better for writers. But there is a big problem on loading time. The Template:Languages is one of the most used templates. By reducing the size of template page, the loading time can be reduced. At least, 0.1 seconds are reduced. This wiki system has many access every day. Reducing loading time is better for readers. Which is important time for readers or writers? I thought that the time for readers was better.
- Another reason is for the translation of the introduction. I didn't want to make Template:DE:Languages, Template:Ja:Languages ... just for the introduction.

Motorroad = Motorway in Japan, really?
Hi Nazotoko, I see that you're the one who added the following information to the wiki:

In essence you say that all motorroads should be tagged as motorways in Japan. This is clearly wrong in other countries, so could you please explain why you make that claim for Japan?
