Two errors

1. Albemarle Road, Elmers End, is in fact Altyre Way. A search for Altyre Way goes to that bit of the main road. (There is a real Albemarle Road to the north in Beckenham, correctly marked, though a search takes you to a nearby bus stop.)

1. Marion Vain Primary School is in fact not so vain, being Marion Vian.

Hi and welcome, Rothorpe! You are invited to correct the errors yourself with your local knowledge, we/I are more than happy to help you. You need to register (it is quickly done!) before you can edit. If you cannot do it please report those errors and correction suggestion via the "add a note" feature (link on bottom right) on [1].

You could look at our Beginners' guide (although it needs some refurbishment...) and/or start away editing and ask here - I will watch. If you have a general question you can find an answer at https://help.openstreetmap.org/ or you can ask there if the question is not already listed. If you like you can also use our brand new data editor, "iD" - it is made to be more user friendly than the older Potlatch2. You can find it in the "Edit▼" dropdown menu on [2].

First step done! :-) Do you only see the aerial photo and no map overlayed? Then I suspect you are using Internet Explorer and the new iD editor - this does not work yet (it may work in future for Internet Explorer version 10). Please try Potlatch or another browser. Sorry, I did not think of Internet Explorer when suggesting to use iD.

You should also see the map (although in a different style) and should should be able to select (by clicking) single roads and other objects. Then you can select the road which you want to correct and change its name. Then click "save", enter a short summary what you did and "okay". Done. --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 22:35, 16 May 2013 (UTC)

Sure, most people keep the old conversations on the talk pages. Usually the content is moved to a subpage called Archive if there is too much old stuff.

Which symbols (where?) do you mean? Do you mean the symbols on the standard map on http://osm.org? There is only http://www.openstreetmap.org/key (available via the menu on the left side). Also see https://help.openstreetmap.org/tags/key/?sort=mostvoted or https://help.openstreetmap.org/tags/legend/?sort=mostvoted - may contain your question. Chile and Peru border disappears

Yes, exactly, this link I meant. The border between Chile and Arg. seems to be complete. E.g. exactly at this place: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=-36.906516&mlon=-71.149167&zoom=3&layers=M

The border between Chile - Peru and is not shown (for me) on the zoom level you've linked to. I don't know why, it may be temporary or it not because it is that small? --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 22:56, 23 May 2013 (UTC)

Oh, hehe, okay. The three parts of the border were all not edited this year (and I would guess that those low zoom level tiles get updated a bit more often, but maybe not), strange. However, a bit of info (left and right countries and name) was missing, but don't think it should case the missing display. edited. See this map comparison http://mc.bbbike.org/mc/?lon=-59.9&lat=-25.1&zoom=3&num=4&mt0=mapnik&mt1=mapnik-german&mt2=cloudmade-thin&mt3=bbbike - some other OSM renderings/styles also don't show the border. It may be time related since the update intervals are greatly different. So if there was a problem with the border in the OSM data at some time or if there is currently a problem in the OSM data but it was okay before than such behaviour also could appear. I will get back to this ... Off-topic note regarding the linked page: although also other map services like google, bing, yahoo, ... are shown we are strictly not allowed to base our OSM improvements on those other maps.
