Je ne suis pas dutout importuné. OSM est un projet d'entraide après tout! Pour ajouter une image au Wiki, j'ai cliqué sur le lien "Upload file" dans le menu de gauche sous "Tools". Bonne continuation!

Licensing

Do you have an idea how https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/File:Gmail-ie11--changeset-comment-short.png and Category:Screenshots of notification mails in general should be licensed? What is the license of avatar image present there? Does interface of software visible there matters? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 11:13, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

@Mateusz Konieczny: Hello! I don't remember which software's rendering of the scream emoji this is. The various interfaces shown are screenshots of proprietary software (Outlook, Windows Mail, Apple Mail, Yahoo! Mail, etc); I don't know what the copyright status of such screenshots is. Apparently Microsoft allows screenshots of its software to be used, but that seems to suggest that unless a company allows it, screenshots might not be freely publishable.

These files are not needed anymore. They're a record of past work, but if we ever do more work on the email templates, we'll need new screenshots anyway, these ones wouldn't provide any new information. We could just delete them.

I would consider simply deleting Dressed-up Notification Mails and files in Category:Screenshots of notification mails to avoid investigating legal situation, as while it was useful (and congratulations on effort to implement this feature properly!) it is not really needed anymore. @Mateusz Konieczny: Yes I agree it's not needed anymore. I'll delete all the screenshot images. If you agree I'll leave the wiki page there, for the historical record, but with a note saying "screenshots have been deleted". It might be useful to refer back to it next time me modify the email templates.

@Mateusz Konieczny: What's the correct procedure for deletion? I've labelled https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/File:Gmail-firefox--changeset-comment-long.png for deletion, can you have a look and confirm whether that's the right approach? Yes, that works well! Due to large number of images I would consider just adding note "and please delete all other files in Category:Screenshots of notification mails for the same reason to avoid placing "{{delete|Contains screenshots of proprietary software, which might constitute copyright infringement. The screenshot was used while working on the email templates, and is no longer needed.
