Thank You
Thank you for drawing the section of SR 16 freeway in Muskingum County. That will save me a trip to get a GPS trace. (I didn't realize Yahoo! had the aerials of it.) The way you tagged it was a bit inconsistent with the rest of Ohio and the US, but I've fixed that. Oh yeah, and thank you for doing the route relation for 16, as well. That was actually the next one I was going to do! --05:36, 6 July 2009 Vid the Kid
- You're welcome! Sorry about the unconventional tagging, I was using the terse explanation on the Key:highway page and only discovered the detailed tagging page after I had done SR 16, and had planned to clean that up this weekend. Stefan Bethke 11:08, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, the guidelines on Key:highway and similar articles are a bit vague. I find that United States roads tagging and Ohio are a bit more relevant. Regarding "highway=trunk", there's no clear, specific agreement on when to use it in the US, but most definitions can be loosely summed up, "sort of like a freeway but not quite".
Oh, crap.
I just noticed that you undid some of my work with US:OH 161 / US:OH 37 just west of Granville. That section is in the process of being upgraded, and a portion of the road was relocated to the north last year, where it will stay. I've made regular trips to observe this personally. (When the new freeway section opens, that road will no longer be a state route.) Unfortunately, you "fixed" the road back to its original alignment, as shown on the Yahoo! aerial photography, and I can't seem to find a way still in existence that I can revert using Potlatch to restore the new road. The new alignment was drawn based on ODOT plans, before I had a GPS unit.
Unless we can get some OSM guru who knows how to retrieve the old data and restore that segment of road, I'll have to redraw it from the plans again or get a GPS trace. In the mean time, I'll have to make a rough fix. Vid the Kid 03:43, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- Again, sorry I messed things up. Using Potlatch, I can see some ways that can be undeleted in that area, but those seem to mainly be ones that I errnonously drew. Stefan Bethke 22:47, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
