Overall, looks pretty good. As you mentioned in the annoucment, I agree, that it will be important to split it out into several subpages to make the long list manageable. At that point, I guess the three columns Linux, Windows, Mac are no longer needed. Other smaller comments are, that it might be nice if a software could be omitted in a section, if none of its fields are entered or positive. Examples are the "Accessibility" and "Editor" section, where only a few Software have any entries. I also have a question of how often the list gets regenerated? But overall, I do think it is a good way forward, as it presumably also allows for more flexibility to automatically create different grouped lists from the templates in the future. --Amm 08:56, 2 September 2010 (BST)

Yes, daily updates are planned once this is used on "real" pages (outside my user namespace ;)). Currently, however, I'm still actively developing the bot software and constantly adding new features. This means that update intervals will be very chaotic for the next week or so. About the other issues:

• On the pages that address individual OS, the Win/Mac/Linux columns will be replaced with a single column that lists supported operating system versions.
• Software entries are filtered depending on their "genre", which is set manually by those who edit the software description pages. At the moment, many programs are incorrectly categorized as "editor" when they don't even offer any editing functionality. Fixing this will significantly reduce the number of "empty" rows.
• It might make sense to move the "accessibility" section to its own page because it has a clearly defined, distinct target audience and is not very relevant for people outside that target audience.
• Flexibility is a major aim of this project. Using Template:SoftwareTable (extending documentation is on my todo list), it will be possible for wiki users to ask the bot to create and update a table with a custom selection of columns and filters for rows.

Sorting

Just a small hint, currently the Sorting is case sensitive and Tools with a first lower letter were put to the end of the list :( --!i! 10:30, 13 September 2010 (BST)

I'm now filtering out everything that isn't in the article namespace (for example, I'm ignoring the User namespace, because you aren't really supposed to place real pages in there). There are still xyz entries, but these are from incorrect data in the Software2 templates (such as the one on GPSTracka, which has "xyz" as its name and wiki values, as well as its website). That's also the reason why there are red links in the name column - it's impossible that software without a wiki page shows up here, so all of these have to be data bugs. --Tordanik 18:39, 14 September 2010 (BST)

Not trivial to implement, this would require several additional features. If the Software2 template had an accessibility=blind;wheelchair;... parameter for software that is targeted at certain handicapped audiences, we could filter based on these values. --Tordanik 14:43, 13 September 2010 (BST)

Title tag in html
