Uttlesford(Essex District) is a district in Essex at latitude 52°01′12.00″ North, longitude 0°13′48.00″ East.
Uttlesford is the north-western-most district of Essex meeting the Cambridgeshire-Hertfordshire boundaries not far from Royston (Herts). Uttlesford is highly rural: Saffron Walden is the main town and is where the district council is based. The District Council website lists three other towns in the district [1] and mentions there are 56 parishes. Notably Uttlesford also includes London's Stansted Airport within its boundaries.
Saffron Walden and neighbouring villages have been systematically being mapped by David.earl, extending the mostly complete South Cambridgeshire area southwards into Essex. Saffron Walden itself was completed early May 2008.
