Vancouver is a city in British Columbia, Canada at latitude 49°14′24.00″ North, longitude 123°03′00.00″ West.

Mapping in Vancouver

Due to the release of mapping data by the government of Canada, the GeoBase_Import was completed on 2010-02-12. This import was a non-destructive merge import, where existing OSM data is left alone and only new data is imported in. The import for Vancouver and surrounding areas (including Whistler) was completed on February 12, 2010, and much work has been done since to correct any errors and fill out missing data.

High-quality aerial photography is available for much of the region from pnorman's server of mapping data by the government of Canada, the GeoBase_Import was c. This imagery is available in josm as "British Columbia Mosaic".

Based on licensing discussion for Vancouver I believe this makes it appropriate for use in OSM. "Please note with reference to the exemptions listed below, all datasets published in the City of New Westminster Open Data collection are released in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act of British Columbia."
