Background

Provide links to your sources.

Data source site: provided from Urayasu city
Data license: Urayasu city local government is preparing to publish it under CC BY. They provide the data to OSM as their pre-publish.
Type of license (if applicable): CC BY (2.1 JP), and local government of Urayasu city made permission to import data to OSM(ODbL).
Link to permission (if required): Not yet available
OSM attribution (if required): http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Contributors#yourdataprovider
ODbL Compliance verified: yes/no

OSM Data Files

Data accuracy is 1/2500. Data creation year is 2013.(平成25年度)

This is a one-time import and will be done using manual efforts including using JOSM to validate the input.

Tagging Plans

The Shapefile has only one column, and 4 attributes.

Tags are applied as following rule.

Attribute in Japanese meaning of attribute OSM Tagging
普通建物 normal building building=yes
普通無壁舎 normal roof building=roof
堅牢建物 solid building [1] building=yes
building:material=concrete
堅牢無壁舎 solid roof building=roof
building:material=concrete

[1] "solid" means as "made by concrete" in definition by Japanese law.

Workflow

  • Workflow
  1. Devided the shapefile as 83 neighbourhood area. (done)
  2. Convert them as .osm file. (done)
  3. Run JOSM validation on each .osm file.
  4. Load .osm file to JOSM, and download raw data for target area.
  5. Conflate with existing data.
  • Changeset size policy

None, the most biggest file size is 704kb (7484 objects).

  • Revert plans

This import will be done by dedicated account "Urayasu_bld_import".

So if some problems happen, I'll revert it's changeset one by one.

Conflation

Existing data has priority.

Will be checked by JOSM validation.
