Kaart's In-Country Editing team collaborates with local communities to help develop sustainable activity within each region. Our teams regularly participate in a wide range of local events, from mapathons and training events, to local meetups and regional events. These initiatives help build strong community connection and foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and positive change.
Types of Outreach
- Online and In-Person Training: Kaart develops and releases OSM training material to the local communities and hosts training sessions both in-person and online to help build knowledge in each community. Visit our Kaart Training page for more details on our materials.
- Hands-On Workshops and Mapathons: Our teams host and participate in community-driven workshops, providing skill-building sessions on OSM topics.
- Local Activities: In addition to our workshops and trainings, Kaart also hosts and participates in hands-on activities like imagery collections, walkabout tool testing, and on-the-ground mapping.
- OSM Events: Kaart participates in a variety of OSM events, such as regional State of the Map conferences to share our knowledge and experience with the local communities.
