Details on Bicycle Transport

The possibility of taking bicycles on aerialways depends on various factors:

  • As a rule, passengers load and unload their bicycles themselves onto the gondola or lift.
  • For safety and weight reasons, e-bike batteries often have to be removed, as the brackets are usually designed for a maximum of 25 kg.
  • The tyre width may also be restricted (usually up to 12 cm), as wider tyres may not fit in the holder.
  • Whether bicycle transport is technically possible depends on the type of aerialway. In principle, it is possible with gondola lifts, chairlifts, and T-bar lifts, although technical modifications may be required.
  • In many cases, there is an additional charge for transporting bicycles. This can be indicated using the fee=* key.
