An ephemeral waterway or body of water tends to appear for only very short periods of time and only after precipitation. Technically, ephemeral flow is distinct from intermittent or seasonal flow.
Note on status and usage
The proposal for this tag is shown as abandoned, with objections stating to instead use intermittent=* and/or seasonal=*. Although there is significant usage of ephemeral=yes, usage is mostly localised to two large change sets (one in Australia and one in the United States).
