Description |
---|
Services for vehicles |
Used on these elements |
Status: de facto |
taginfo: service:vehicle:* |
The service:vehicle:*=*
tagging scheme was introduced by iD Editor as a way to tag what the type of services a shop=car (dealership) and shop=car_repair object provides, in a way that does not conflict with the existing use of the service=* scheme used for tagging service roads (highway=service).
Combinations
A few of the most used tagging combinations are listed below. More can find at TagInfo.
Key | description | Count |
---|---|---|
service:vehicle:car_repair=* | Offers car repair services - please be more specific |
|
service:vehicle:truck_repair=* | Offers truck repair services - please be more specific |
|
service:vehicle:oil_change=* | An oil replacement is possible here |
|
service:vehicle:tyres=* | Tyres are sold and replaced here - does not imply that a punctured tyre might be repaired at this location (but it can be replaced) |
|
service:vehicle:tyres_repair=* | Tyres are repaired here - e.g. a punctured tyre might be fixed here. Does not imply that tyres are sold |
|

Alternatives
The service=* tagging scheme should no longer be used to tag what kind of services a car repair shop provides. The service=* key has mainly been used together with highway=service tag and the different usage in association with shop=car_repair might be confusing to some users. Another alternative is to a car:*=* namespace tagging scheme. None of these schemes has been formally approved, but the service:vehicle=* schema is the most used and least ambiguous.
