What

As detailed on the dedicated wiki page Proposed features/consulate general, I propose to initiate an automated worldwide edit to switch all the diplomatic=consulate_general to diplomatic=consulate combined with consulate=consulate_general. The "Why" and "Number" is detailed in this wiki page proposal.

Changeset would be described and tagged with tags that mark it as automatic and provide link to discussion approving edit. It would include at least:

Changeset split into small areas to avoid continent-sized bounding boxes.
Edits generated by JOSM.

Repetition

Redoing this edit in the future would be treated as a new mechanical edit without any new approval process under the same conditions.
