Melilla is an autonomous city in Spain, Africa at latitude 35°17′34.44″ North, longitude 2°56′48.12″ West.

Melilla also includes three dependencies to the west. These are small islands to the south-east of Al Hoceima (Morocco), completely surrounded within Moroccan territorial waters :

• Peñon de Alhucemas (a military area),
• Isla de Terra, and Isla de Mar (uninhabited).

Morocco claims the whole territory of Melilla.
