Adding hotels (alleged ""hobby"" project)
Scope
The colleagues of Trziste prace wanted to contribute to OpenStreetMap by adding hotels that they previously visited.[1]. For this, MapComplete was used.

This project started around the 22nd of july, 2024[2]
Planning
As the involved mappers are novices, they were not aware of the organized editing guidelines. As this is not an import, the Import guidelines are not needed as well.
Issues and followup
This was discovered by Pieter Vander Vennet (on osm, edits, contrib, heatmap, chngset com.) as he was reviewing changes made with MapComplete which he made. The changeset raised suspicions: images were added to Imgur using MapComplete and linked to OpenStreetMap, but those images were clearly copied (without permissions) from trippingguide.com.
Furthermore, as two of the three involved accounts mentioned the data company, it seemed like this was a paid data import project. However, in this changeset and subsequent comments they confirmed that this is not a paid project and that they visited these hotels before. Furthermore, they stressed that no other data was copied from external sources and were very reachable via both changeset comment and the contact form on their website.

This import leaded to a full revert and warning of being blocked by the DWG.
