Let's use this more actively!
I support this proposal and propose to use it more actively in cities. In cities, there are greenery areas, which are a lawn with trees (popular in areas of post-Soviet cities). Many mappers don't want to map them as a natural=wood because they don't have understory and the percentage of canopy overlap is low. But at the same time they want to show the presence of trees. For this reason, drawing "camouflage" is popular ― tracing along the crowns of trees. Using this tag on a solid patch of lawn with trees would solve this dilemma. This tag can even be used on wide areas filled with individual trees, so you still can't say it is forest or wood.
Rendering
I suggest rendering the tag with the color of the landuse=grass or natural=grassland and the icons of the trees as on the wood. This will allow areas where individual trees have already been mapped separately on the grass blend in harmoniously together and display the leaf_type.
