State of the Map 2021/volunteers/translation
Background
This year, State of the Map will be virtual and we are happy to make the conference more accessible by providing live translation to other languages through the use of Mumble as a live translation platform.
Acknowledgement
This will not be possible without our translation volunteers:
- Spanish - Eric Armijo (@YoViajo)
- Bahasa Indonesia - Zainab Ramadhanis (@Zainab)
- Bengali - Rubyath Hasan (@rhasan)
- Polish - Jan Kalwasiński (@Darellur)
- Italian - Rosa Colacicco (@RosaColacicco)
- Russian - Ilya Zverev (@zverik)
as well as Dakota Benjamin and Yogesh Girikumar (from hot_tech team), our Mumble support/assistants!
Summary
While watching the livestream of talks (Track 1), attendees can connect to the HOT Mumble Server and join the preferred language channel under the Language Atrium - SotM 2021 channel. The translator is the only person who can speak in that channel. All visitors of the channel are muted.
