A shop where a pharmacist sells medications. Such shops also called drugstores, especially in the United States.
Typically sale of medications is regulated by the government, and pharmacists are typically licensed by the government. Stores that sell other items typically found in pharmacies such as personal care items, but that do not sell regulated medications, should be not be tagged as amenity=pharmacy, but instead perhaps as shop=chemist.
How to map
Set a node at the centre of the pharmacy or draw an area along its outline.
Tag a node or area with amenity=pharmacy.
Add name=* if it is named or noname=yes otherwise.
Dispensing
Adding dispensing=yes/no is useful in some areas.
In jurisdictions where there is a class of drugs that can be sold by pharmacists without a doctor's prescription, pharmacies that sell those drugs but do not fill prescriptions should be tagged dispensing=no. Pharmacies that fill prescriptions should be tagged dispensing=yes.
- dispensing=no - A pharmacy with a pharmacist that does not fill prescriptions, but does sell pharmacist-only drugs (e.g., pseudoephedrine in the US).
- dispensing=yes - A pharmacy with a dispensing pharmacist able to provide prescription drugs as well as over the counter drugs.
The default value will depend on jurisdiction.
Compounding
To express if a pharmacy can prepare medicine, the tag pharmacy:compounding=* was proposed the default value is country specific

There is discussion on talk about how to represent a location that is both a pharmacy and something else (e.g. a supermarket or chemist-type store), potentially with separate hours and contact info.
Near the pharmacy, a vending machine
If there is a vending machine for condoms or for OTC medications (Over-the-counter):
