A place that mainly sells Surinamese cuisine, i.e., food which is considered part of the kitchen of Suriname, such as Heri Heri or Roti.

Restaurants cooking Surinamese food are mostly found in Suriname (although the cuisine=* tag might be omitted there as this would be the native cuisine) and the Netherlands, which is home to a sizeable group of people of Surinamese descent.

Surinamese people represent a broad mix of other nationalities, because their ancestors where slaves shipped in by the Dutch coloniser. For Surinamese cuisine this means that influences from other kitchens are common, and restaurants may describe their menu as a mix of Surinamese, and, amongst others, Indian, Javanese, (other) Indonesian, and Chinese. This can be reflected in the cuisine=* tag by combining these. For example, cuisine=surinamese;javanese.
