A 
ravelin is a detached, triangular outwork that is placed in front of the curtain wall of a fortification.
The letter D in this diagram marks the locations of ravelins in a star fort or bastion fort.
How to map
Place a 
node at the centre or draw an 
area along the outlines of the ravelin and tag it with defensive_works=ravelin.
Tags used in combination
- name=* - if the ravelin is named. Do not use the name of the fortification to tag individual bastions.
- ref=* - for the number of the ravelin, if it has one.
- heritage=* - if the ravelin has a heritage status. If only the entire fortification has a heritage status, do not use heritage tags for individual ravelins.
