This feature is used when a generator converts electrical current into another form of energy, e.g. heat, hydrogen (generator:output:hydrogen=*) compressed air (generator:output:compressed_air=*). This form of energy may be easier to store. See also content=hot_water.

The tag is not used if electricity is only converted into another electrical form, e.g. another frequency or voltage. Use power=converter instead.

For a heat pump, the medium from which the heat is extracted is specified, although electricity is also used. See generator:type=heat_pump
