Near to locations such as sheltered accommodation or care homes frail pedestrians are particularly likely to be crossing roads. They often walk more slowly than other pedestrians and thus take more time to cross the road. They are also more likely to have sensory impairments such as hearing impairment or sight degradation meaning less awareness of traffic.

How to map

Frail pedestrian hazards may be mapped in the following ways:

  • Place a node node at the location of the frail pedestrians hazard traffic sign, tagged traffic_sign=hazard (or code) + hazard=frail_pedestrians.
  • Tag a node node along a highway=* way way at the location of the sign
  • Tag the section way of highway=* where the frail pedestrians hazard is present.
