A dedicated object used to demarcate the edge of an eruv. It is placed under an man_made=eruv_string, or a wire or other object used for the edge of an eruv. It can be basically anything of a suitable height (at least 80-100 cm). In Israel, it is common to use a metal rectangle 110x30 cm, welded onto rebar that is hammered into a wall or welded onto an eruv pole. Outside of Israel, often a lechi is an inconspicuous item attached to a utility pole under an existing wire.
