A discharge point of a drain, sewer, or other stream into a watercourse or other body of water (Outfall on Wikipedia).

How to map

To map a outfall add a node along a stream, river, or other body of water and tag it man_made=outfall.

Outfalls may have ref=* but these may be difficult to ascertain. Outfalls will usually be at the end of a pipe or culvert, which will not be mapped. Locating outfalls may be a starting point for building a better picture of this underground infrastructure.

Consider adding substance=* to the node (for example substance=sewage or substance=rainwater).
An outfall is always a discharge point, you can then use outlet=* to state how the outfall is designed/shaped.
