Distinction from other features
- For clubs in the narrower sense (groups primarily serving social purposes, such as sports clubs), use club=*.
- For offices of welfare organizations (e.g., Caritas, Diakonie, Red Cross), use office=charity.
- For offices of labor unions, use office=union.
- For offices of political parties (local, district, or regional branches), use office=political_party.
Additional tags
The following are non-established extensions, but a few can be observed on TagInfo already:
- association=* - as per OpenStreetMap practice, this could be used to indicate the kind of the association. Observed good values:
- association=student
- association=religious
- association=music
- association=sport
- association=cultural
- association=journalism.
Observed bad values: association=non_profit (use office=ngo instead), concrete name of association (use name=* instead). Some more proposed values: association=special_police.
