To express the speciality of the engineer or engineering company, it has been proposed to use engineering=* or engineer:type=* - see Engineering vs engineer:type.
engineer=* has mainly been used to specify the name of the engineer who designed a structure (i.e. a man_made=bridge or man_made=communications_tower), similar to the use of architect=*. See taginfo.
