The proposed tag placement=right_of:1 can be used to indicate that the OSM-way runs parallel to the lanes of the road and is drawn at the right side of the first lane. To determine the number of the lane the road is viewed in the direction of the OSM-way and the lanes are numbered from left to right with the leftmost lane equal to lane number 1.
Tagging
Align the way parallel to the lanes, and tag placement=* to describe which lane the way runs along. See the proposal for details.
