The tag route=evacuation is used to tag an evacuation route, a pre-planned route for moving mass amounts of people away from a disaster situation. These routes are generally along high-capacity roadways and lead away from the hazard.
How to map
Evacuation routes are mapped in a relation of type type=route.
In relation to the following characteristics should be included:
- type=route mandatory
- route=evacuation mandatory
- evacuation_route=* mandatory - Show type of emergency route is supposed to be used for.
- evacuation_route=hurricane
- evacuation_route=nuclear
- evacuation_route=tsunami
- evacuation_route=*
- forward/backward mandatory - Show direction of route.

- information:eas=* - Add radio broadcast stations where people might be able to obtain information while evacuating along this route.
