Related tags
Tagging of HVAC and air-conditioning retail, trade and wholesale outlets should be regarded as tentative at present, as relatively few of these businesses have been mapped. There are therefore numerous tags with similar (but not necessarily identical) meanings in use, but each with a small number of values.
Installation of complex heating and air conditioning systems requires specialist skills most outlets selling parts and systems will not sell to the general public. In such cases the usual tagging is to tag it as shop=trade or replace the shop key with wholesale=*. There are also numerous alternatives for the tag value. General plumbing suppliers will often sell HVAC equipment, whilst HVAC outlets can be seen as specialist plumbing suppliers. In Britain, and perhaps other countries, air conditioning is usually sold discretely from heating systems, so air_conditioning has been used as a tag value.
