A shop that primarily sells miscellaneous sewing supplies, such as fabric, thread, sewing machines, notions, etc.
Please note that there are several other types of shops that may overlap to some degree with shop=sewing.
- For a shop that primarily sells fabric for sewing, quilting, or upholstery, use shop=fabric.
- For a shop that primarily sells yarn for knitting or crochet, use shop=wool.
- For a shop that primarily sells notions only (buttons, threads, zippers, ribbon, etc) you may consider shop=haberdashery.
- For a shop that may sell all this and more you may consider shop=craft. For example a big-box store with fabric, sewing machines, yarn, paint, paper, seasonal decor, silk flowers, beads, etc.

- shop=haberdashery - a shop that primarily sells notions only (buttons, threads, zippers, ribbon, etc) (that is describing almost the same or the same shop type shop=haberdashery has lower use as of 2018)
