Do you think it would be possible to extent the functionality to add automagically a node in the middle of each waysegment of the intersection of the way with the zoom12-slippy-map grid (tile) in those cases, where there is no node in the entire z12-tile? This is needed to display long ways in certain applications (e.g. Osmarender). An example for detection can be found here: [1] (ways with long segments). This applies to all ways although it can be found mostly at ferry-routes...
