'Handles' that are electronic
Some 'handles' that open things are electric e.g a light beam or a pressure pad that operate doors. Should these be included here? Warin61 (talk) 08:29, 14 October 2022 (UTC)
- To be really sure of what it is about, do you have any picture that could complete example section if appropriate, please? Fanfouer (talk) 10:52, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
- There is not much to see. Wikipedia .. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_door Could be the rubber mat or a sensor centred over thedoo. Text only: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Door#Automatic Warin61 (talk) 08:26, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
- activation=electronic? as well as 'handle=no'? And for handle=yes/etc.. activation=manual could be the defalut for anything other than handle=no. Humm ... does not fit all cases.. where a 'key' is required to operate it. Still thinking. Warin61 (talk) 08:42, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
- I think those combinations fit for all situations :
- Automatic door with sensor and no handle: handle=no + actuator=electric_motor
- Manual door without any automation: handle=* + actuator=manual
- Manual door with electric motor assistance: handle=* + actuator=electric_motor
- I looks ok to make actuator=manual requires handle=* by the way Fanfouer (talk) 08:59, 19 October 2022 (UTC)

- Err no, actuator=manual does not necessarily require a handle=* - think of a swing door used in kitchens - people with hands full of food push there way through - no handles and manually operated. And then I'm not thinking of the motor but the control system used to activate the door, could be a finger print, a retina scan, a numeric keypad, a radio signal from a key fob.
