The D7 sign identifiers are very hard to track down. I found a mention of them in this document from California: https://dot.ca.gov/-/media/dot-media/programs/safety-programs/documents/signs/f0018702-2010crossref-guide-ca.pdf and on https://www.trafficsigns.com/guide-signs/national-park-signs which quotes and links to a section of the MUTCD that ... doesn't mention that identifier (anymore?). Sigh. Putting these notes here in case someone else finds them useful. JesseFW (talk) 03:00, 23 March 2024 (UTC)

@JesseFW: It doesn't help that the 11th edition from December 2023 renumbered many of the D series signs, swapping, splitting, and merging a bunch of codes. – Minh Nguyễn 💬 22:51, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
@Minh Nguyen: Yeah, that's quite a mess. :-/ Maybe a separate key for "mutcd_edition" that is only used on ambiguous codes? JesseFW (talk) 23:33, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
@JesseFW: Maybe, though most of the signs haven't gone away, they just have different codes. If we can take care of a one-off fix, then we don't need to worry about coining a new key. [1] – Minh Nguyễn 💬 00:34, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
