Suggestion to map individual steps in a flight of stairs appears to be a proposal -=

Re "To map a flight of steps in detail, first draw a way and tag it as highway=steps, then place a node at each step and tag it as barrier=step. Add step_count=* to the way, indicating the number of step nodes you mapped."

This does not appear to have been done anywhere so far, based on an overpass-turbo search of all of these features (less than 200 are mapped globally). All are either individual steps, or a linear barrier around a feature more commonly mapped as barrier=kerb: https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/Z2i - none of the nodes are steps within a highway=steps feature.

If this is a proposal for a new way of mapping steps, please discuss it on the Tagging list or another wider forum first. --Jeisenbe (talk) 05:46, 15 October 2020 (UTC)
