Talk:Tag:man made=qanat

Is there some reason why neither waterway=canal + location=underground + canal=qanat or man_made=pipeline + location=underground + pipeline=qanat is not sufficient? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 22:10, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

• Feedback on the tagging mailing list suggested waterway=canal is the right main tag (see links on proposal page). I'm against making qanat a new main tag in man_made, I just haven't gone to voting (not enough interest) and didn't feel comfortable giving the proposal de facto status JoeG (talk) 23:39, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

Is this still live proposal?

It appears the only live proposal on Qanats is https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Qanat, which had not yet been formally put forward when it advocated this tag, and which then concluded that it was better to use Tag:canal=qanat instead. Does anybody have any objection to changing the status to "unknown"? --JoeG (talk) 07:24, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
