Descrition

To use the other term instead of capacity= to count tables

It's better to use table_count=* tag instead of capacity=* to specify the number of tables.

Round tables

There are some round ping pong tables out there. I didn't take a picture; but google images shows some. For now I am just adding a note=Round table to them. Are they common? If so, we should come up with some tagging :). --Tordans (talk) 19:05, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

Quality and equipment

I'm proposing some tags (these are meant especially for public tables, which vary substantially in quality), in order to give the user a better idea what to expect.

• net=yes, net=metal, net=fabric, net=no to specify whether any and, optionally, what kind of net is present.
• material=concrete, material=wood, etc.
• quality=* which takes the same values as smoothness=* so the user gets an idea how enjoyable the experience will be. The meanings of the value will need to be defined; perhaps as defined below, or differently.
• incline=0%, incline=2%, etc to specify whether the table is level or not
• height=0.76, etc. to specify the height of the top of the table
• width=1.52, etc. to specify the width of the table
• length=2.74, etc. to specify the length of the table
• net:height=0.15, etc. to specify the height of the net above the table
• net:overhang=0.15, etc. to specify the lateral overhang of the net beyond the table
• bounce=77%, etc. to specify which fraction of its dropping height (ideally from 30cm) a table tennis ball bounces back

Quality proposal:

• quality=excellent: Competition-like: sharp edges, completely smooth surface, no damage. Can be played a whole day without any stroke being affected by impurities of the table.
• quality=good: Almost undisturbed enjoyment. Smoothness slightly impaired globally or a few very localized damages. Less than 1 stroke per 11-point match affected.
• quality=intermediate: Enjoyment moderately disturbed. Partly damaged edges, locally unsmooth surface, and/or moderately damaged net. Between 1 and 10 strokes per 11-point match are altered.
• quality=bad: Enjoyment considerably curbed. Substantial damage affects almost each rally.
• quality=very_bad: Not enjoyable at all. Outcome of the game is almost completely random due to the condition of the table.
• quality=horrible: Not enjoyable at all. Outcome of the game is almost completely random due to the condition of the table, and virtually all rallies will be ended prematurely due to the condition of the table.
• quality=very_horrible: Substantial parts of the table not suitable for playing at all or missing.
• quality=unplayable: Table unsuited for table tennis.
