Feature Request: Zoomable Slippy Map
Instead of a static global view
- Sorry, not going to happen due to the enormous ressources this would need (basically a complete OSM rendering database). -- Joto (talk) 20:39, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
More common combinations?
What about setting the limit for common combinations of tag=value lower, from now 1000 to something like 100, 200 or 500, would it be expensive? --Dieterdreist (talk) 16:23, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
Link to Source?
Is taginfo open source? If yes, could the link to the repository / forge be added here? Specifically, I have some ideas how to make taginfo even more help- and powerful and don't know where to discuss it.
- There are links "Contact" and "Installation" right on this page. That should be enough to find what you need. Joto (talk) 21:06, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
Multiple values
Multiple values can be written as tag=value1;value2;value3 and any algorithm to count how many times a specific tag appears on the map should really break these multiple values apart - tag=value1 tag=value2 tag=value3 - before generating any counts. Currently, it thinks that "value1;value2;value3" is a single tag and gives that odd combination its own separate usage count. carlb (talk) 05:50, 29 January 2023 (UTC)
- Unfortunately it is not quite that easy to do. For some context see https://blog.jochentopf.com/2013-09-23-semicolons-in-osm-tags.html and https://github.com/taginfo/taginfo/issues/82 . Joto (talk) 07:29, 29 January 2023 (UTC)
