Is centralkey supported
I have found several public toilets in OSM, but in Wheelmap they are not clickable. Is support planned for toilets and the centralkey=*-tag ? --Lulu-Ann 15:16, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Why only Nodes 
?
Many locations (shops etc.) are only listed as Area 
. Actualy they are not listed on wheelmap.org. So these locations will be added again by wheelmap.org users.

Licence terms?
I have just added a 'wheelchair=yes tag to a local convenience shop that I use through wheelmap.org. I hadn't agreed to any terms and the contributor in OSM is given as 'wheelmap_visitor'. A couple of problems. Firstly, I didn't agree to any particular terms but the data is now in OSM - I could have collected it from any copyright source, or could later claim some rights to it both of which could lead to problems for OSM. Secondly, my contribution, which I know to be accurate is lumped in with all the others, some of which may be nonsense. Don't get me wrong, I love the project and the ease of adding data, but the licensing and related quality issues seem to have been completely ignored! As such someone may in due course argue that everything has to be removed because of some copyright issue from some contributor. Any thoughts? PeterIto 16:09, 13 June 2012 (BST)
- Yes on wheelmap it is possible to add the tag wheelchair=yes/no/limited to an existing openstreetmap-node anonymously. For any other edit the wheelmap user must login and connect his wheelmap-account to his osm-account. The reasoning behind this is, that
- A) the manual data entry of such a tiny bit of information can not by copyrighted because it is too trivial. We regard it as a public domain contribution.
- B) Some of the data may be nonsense, but that is true to all data no matter if you signed up or not. If something was edited inaccurately, we believe someone else will correct it. :If you meant the risk of vandalism by individuals, we have no complaints yet on wheelmap on the last 240.000 submissions of place information. We think that vandals don't have fun with projects which are as open as wheelmap and there is no other incentive (eg. you can not add URLs anonymously).

- I'm sure the OSM sysadmins are aware of the anonymous proxy approach in use here (the wheelmap_visitor user) and clearly they haven't decided to block this account, probably because the wheelmap.org project is widely regarded as... awesome! ... but I think they probably would cut this account off if vandalism became a problem. Also in the future we may need to crack down on this kind of thing if lots of other developers were to regard this as setting some kind of precedent. This has been discussed before see frederick's point at the bottom here and the rest of that thread for more discussion. Generally feeding through anonymous edits is not encouraged at all. The first version of Amenity Editor did this, but later switched to the OAuth sign-in approach. The fact that only very simple addition of the wheelchair tag is permitted anonymously, makes it more acceptable I guess. And from a licensing point of view the triviality of the contribution might mean you get away with certain things. But wheelmap is operating on the boundaries of what's allowed.

- Thanks for the responses. I do agree that the benefits do seem to outweigh the risks at present. Possibly it would be good to nudge this project away from the 'licensing boundary' over time but it may be appropriate to wait until the vast bulk of wheelmap attribution has been added before doing so. Attribution ODbL/CT
It seems that Wheelmap has not switched its attribution from CC-BY-SA to ODbL and does not inform its contributors about OpenStreetMap's Contributor Terms. I hope there are no legal problems preventing this? --Tordanik 16:02, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
Tag used, only wheelchair=* and capacity:disabled=* ??
Why take only wheelchair=* and not capacity:disabled=*, too? The both could be use in parking. The last one is a good feature to give location of space parking with amenity=parking_space + amenity=parking_space --APP3L initiation (talk) 15:38, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
