Project: Black and white base layer
I created a black & white mapnik alternative to mapnik to be used as a base layers for other information that needs to stand out more than with the colored mapnik. I created two base layers, one identical to mapnik, and one with reduced information (e.g. no shop icons etc.)
black & white: [1]
b&w no icons: [2]
Note that when you open both next to each other and flip back and forth, you can see that the "no icons" version shows more road names (that is because of label collision avoidance).
A nice combination with hillshading and the bike layer: [3]
Project: Wifi map
The wifi map displays POIs where you can access the internet via Wifi/Wlan. Typical examples are hotels or cafès. The map differenciates three kinds of access:
- blue icon: you have to pay for access. E.g. in a hotel, where an extra charge is due for guests accessing the internet.
- brown icon: access for customers. E.g. in a hotel or cafe, you don't pay extra to access the net.
- green icon: free access ("public"). Everyone is welcome to connect to the wlan.
Project: Nice Map
This is a private project, focused among others on nice bridges.
