This looks pretty well thought out. I've come across a few but not sure to what extent I've mapped anything. Our local Army Reserve Centre hosts a cadet group, and it has two entrances one for the cadets the other for another Army Reserve formation 29702471
29702471. This centre has the local UTC, but from memory several insignia are displayed on the outside of the building 97674261 97674261. This is at the back of an old telephone exchange, but there was a cadet group on parade when I surveyed it 233600239 233600239. SK53 (talk) 20:02, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

- Not sure if I should be, but I'm grateful for the rabbit hole you've sent me down with the ones you've mapped haha, it's brought up a few things that I hadn't considered. The first one (29702471 29702471) isn't actually a cadet unit, it's the head office for the East Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA).[1] There are 13 RFCAs[2] and ...in conjunction with the Cadet Associations and Services HQs provide essential local support [for cadet units].[3] - going to have to come up with a plan for how to tag these as well, and how to tag the units that each one 'belongs' to!
- The second one (97674261 97674261, good memory by the way, you mapped that nine years ago!), is home to Beeston Detachment, Army Cadet Force [4] as well as 1359 (Beeston) Squadron, Air Training Corps.[5] Incidentally, there are two Sea Cadet locations about 20 minutes either side of this place, although for some bizzare reason, they're a little closer to the water![6] The Nearest Combined Cadet Force location is Nottingham High school, about 15 minutes away.[7] No idea about the Volunteer Cadet Corps as the dont seem to have a 'unit finder' page on their website (probably because there aren't many locations).
- The last one (233600239 233600239), you would have indeed seen some cadets there. 2418 (Sherwood), Air Training Corps[8] and Sherwood Detachment, Army Cadet Force[9] are both located there.
- That brings up another issue actually; how to map buildings that house multiple cadet organizations on different nights... The rabbit hole goes deeper! Alux (talk) 18:54, 27 November 2019 (UTC)

I had started wondering about how to map the training depots of various Cadet units as I was working on the recent proposal for military=base, then spotted your page while searching for ways to go about it!
I can see that you’ve put a lot of thought into it, but (& no criticism here!) as you're concentrating on the UK, you’ve gone for a fairly specific lay out & wording?
I’m in Australia, & we, in common with a lot of countries, also have Military Cadets – in our case simply called Army, Navy & Air Force: https://www.defenceyouth.gov.au/youth-programs/adf-cadets/
Same as UK, they have no connection to the actual military, apart from being sponsored by one of the branches of service, although Cadet depots are often located inside various Bases.
I had been thinking about mapping their building, if they have one, possibly as building=cadets, or maybe just building=yes, together with a node on it:
club=youth + youth=military_cadets + cadets=army / navy / air_force,
or alternatively, just
club=military_cadets + cadets=army / navy / air_force
(I’ve got to say that I don’t like the club= designation, but I don’t think we’d be able to avoid using it?)
Combined with:
name=123 Army Cadet Unit / TS Tyalgum / 213 Squadron AAFC
operator=Australian Army Cadets / Australian Navy Cadets / Australian Air-Force Cadets
I was wondering if a format like that would also work for you?
I see that you also have a Combined Cadet Force & also a Volunteer Cadet Corps. Could they possibly be counted as =combined_services for CCF, & either included under =navy for VCF, or even =marines? I saw your comment “Using abbreviations like Air Cadets should be avoided as they are ambiguous, it could refer to either a cadet in the Air Training Corps or a cadet in the RAF section of the Combined Cadet Force”, but any potential confusion there should be clarified by the Unit name, shouldn't it?
We do also have Volunteer Emergency Service cadets out here, but they are housed by their parent group, so I don’t think they would need to be mentioned?
I’m quite certain though, that if we go ahead like this, we’ll find many more “types” of cadets that would need to be included!
