- see also Hospital Data From Sahana
- new (2010-01-31): Precise coords have been entered in shared spreadsheet, apparently from PAHO.
Use source=PAHO.
- Look up the locations for hospitals that are in the shared spreadsheet:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0ArlMTYEgfvwsdERtTkxRUVVqRXdpVzlDSlFnb3F1UHc&hl=en
Update the spreadsheet, and enter the hospitals in OSM if you can (there is a "present in OSM" column in the far right).
new (2010-01-23) : another hospital spreadsheet has been created yesterday (2010-01-22) at
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Aoyf-OlHreuhdDBkSWJ2d1FtMkpkTzZrV1B4dDlKREE&hl=en by Mark Prutsalis (Sahana)
It is formatted differently, but valuable information could be found there. Is also contains a quality code, defined by Margie Roswell. (The first shared spreadsheet had been created by Dino Pagliardi)

- need instructions on how to use this as a WMS layer

A directory of Haiti hospitals, addresses and phones, no maps http://haitimedical.com/union/reference/hospitals.asp
Use amenity=hospital, name=*
Use source:addr=https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0ArlMTYEgfvwsdERtTkxRUVVqRXdpVzlDSlFnb3F1UHc&hl=en if you get the address from there.
When I have no other information than town, I just a point there, in case people looking for a hospital (e.g. from name) are happy to find even approximate coordinates, until more information is available. In this case, when entering the coordinates in the spreadsheet, I put no more than 3 digits after "." in the coordinates, and use a lighter yellow color to highlight. Please edit wiki and correct if this is wrong.
You can use the chat dialog in the shared spreadsheet (more specific) and/or IRC to coordinate with others working on the same task.
When you have time to refine :
Use the tag addr:full=* to store the address
Use the Karlruhe schema if you can parse the address: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/House_numbers/Karlsruhe_Schema
For context, see :
https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk/2010-January/047364.html
2010-01-20
- You have to use the source=* tag to describe the layer you were using, including the satellite, the owner of the imagery and the date of the imagery, e.g. source=Quickbird, DigitalGlobe, 2010/01/15. This is required by the imagery owners and helps us to see if your mapping might be outdated. See WikiProject_Haiti/Imagery_and_data_sources#Imagery
